Traditional board and train facilities promise to resolve your dogs behavioral issues for you in as little as a few weeks and typically for a pretty hefty price tag. There are some reputable board and train facilities out there so this is not an indictment on all of them, however, many board and train options use harsh suppressors in order to shape your dogs behavior without taking into consideration their association to the process. Many dogs in this kind of environment can either return fearful from this type of training or entirely shutdown. Even if your dog is suitable to this type of training there is also the concern for regression if you are not educated on how to institute the same type of structure and approach that your dog was getting while in their care. There is no substitute for learning how and doing the work yourself. With that said, there is an argument to be made that a trainer can help establish new behavioral patterns which then, if you are also educated on how to instill, can help you speed up the process of rehabilitation. This is our take on the classic board and train. Half days working with our trainers while spending the rest of their time at home with you. This is a partnership where we assist you in what you are trying to accomplish all while taking into consideration what is best for you, your dog, and the desired results. Our board and train program can help you with everything from improving your dogs leash behaviors, socialization, recall, agility, impulse control and commands, to just giving your dog an opportunity at some much needed mental and physical exercise.
